A manufacturing defect is broadly defined as any defect that is derived from a manufacturing process that does not allow the product to function as originally intended. Manufacturing defects include, but are not limited to:
- Plating failure.
- Mechanical part failure: Hinges, rim lock, decorative icons, temples.
- Soldering failure.
- Plastic material delamination due to defective manufacturing process.
- Discoloration of any part of the frame not related to use of the product outside of its intended purpose.
- Lens falling out of frame.
- Failure of any connection or connection component.
The following defects are not considered to be manufacturing defects:
- Scratched lenses after the initial post production inspection, as noted above.
- Product broken or damaged intentionally.
- Product broken by accidental damages.
- Product subjected to conditions outside of its intended use.
